early 2007, i made
10 lists as my way to recap the year 2006..now that it's 2008 (HAAaAAAPPPYYY NEEEW YEEEEAAARRR EBRIOLLL!!!), i'd like to continue what i started and do the same for 2007...cheers everyone!
Top 10 highlights of 2006 (in no particular order)
1. Long weekends and 3 homes. Has anyone realized that there were a lot of holidays this year? got to go to places or just do nothing for days and nights, fantastic! I got to spend most of these long weekends at 3 different places i think i can call home. In Makati, in Las Pinas and in Pampanga. I know what some would think about the last bit, but it's not really entirely that. no, im not planning on settling down soon. It's just that for the numerous times i've visited there, i met a lot of cool and warm people who accepted me. and im really really thankful to everyone for making me feel so at home. I'm lucky, i have a very very big family :)
2. Beijing, China (June 2007). Still can't believe i saw a live panda! and i've been to the great wall. i mean sure, its a great struggle to ask for soy sauce or chili there, but it was an experience. you're not in beijing everyday, you know. and it was much more fun coz we came as a group, the whole phd,,grabe astig! looking forward to 2008 trip, i hope we're still included though
3. Decster. it was fun while it lasted, now ive turned him over to my sisters. who exactly is he? he's my first digital camera, won him in a raffle. he accompanied me during our beijing trip, never did gave me a headache. but for a time, he can't close his eye properly, all because i was too clumsy. sorry about that. anyway, he's in good hands now, i think. and i have a new lover, which all of you know by now and who is also next on my list :)
4. Derek. Gad, we've only been together for 2 weeks and yet i sooo soooooo love him already. he really is a dream come true. since the birth of budget DSLRs, i've been dreaming of owning one, and now i have him, my Mc D. i'm looking forward to more trips with him, 2008 would surely be a blast!
5. Teambuilding, Boracay (Sept. 2007). I thought I wasn't going back there this year. no more free trips for me, not unless im allowed to go on out of town events, which is very unlikely (hay). but still, thanks to phd, i had revisited my other home and reunited with my Bora. alavet! everyone was there, even our trusty boys, which was nice since they really are part of the phd family and it's just right that they should join the teambuilding. it was fun. a half day of games, a night of celebration and days of being alone in the beach, but not really. i should have more trips to the beach. it does wonders.
6. Play station 2 - Barnyard and HarvestMoon. I mean, seriously, i have to put this down. sure, there were a lot of nights when i had barely enough sleep , but heck! ALAVET! i think i'd be a good farmer, if i wanted to. hahahahaha! for some reason, adventure games or rpgs doesn't have the same effect as the 2 games, both of which, hilariously, is about farm life. hehehe! i miss it though...but maybe it's better this way, i sleep on time. heheheh!
7. ADcongress 07, Subic (Nov 07). i've been a delegate before, but only as a student. now im a real full delegate. ye ye! horded the freebies, mababaw lang anman ako. went home with 2 extra bags. gotta love it. we also had the chace to explore a real yatch. super cool! and i even get to sit down and listen to great people. it's really inspiring. :) i can only wish that when someone proposes to me, it would be as magical as what happened to that couple at the gaiman event. astig..
8. the trillanes BU day. that was one eventful day, to think we spent most of the time inside the van, or beside it since we had to change tires for 3 times. we over spent, mostly on food, which, if you think about it, is not really new. kami lang ni yam e. haha! anyway, it was fun. had the chance to visit an orphanage again. it's a great feeling, giving back. that was also the day when a real curfew was set. i made it home a little before 12. haha. kahit sa curfew photo finish parin talaga ako.
9. Wapness Christmas Party. we didn't have one last year, but this year, tinuloy na talaga namin. yes, the group is getting smaller, and i believe it would still get smaller next christmas, but that shouldn't stop us from catching up. My wap friends are like family to me and it's really nice to see that not much has changed. lukaret parin kaming lahat, ALAVET!
10. Winning the Eagle. This one is very recent. and to be honest, until now, i can't believe it. It may just be an award made up for the office, but it meant so much more to me. it meant that people believed in me and i really really am honored. i can only hope that i can prove that im worthy of that title. I don't like letting people down.
9 worst not so good memories1. overnight sa opisina. it's quite frequent this year. i mean, i don't mind, but it's just really draining.
2. ang mga sabits. (work related paren) i've had a lot this year, and it's really disappointing. super
3. ang mga breakdowns dahil...well, tama na,,i just hope ok na talaga
4. ang unti unting paglagas ng spice girls. hay...lahat kayo iniwan nyo kami! hehe!
5. being caught in the middle. i try to stay dedma pero mahirap den sya in fairness
6. the LBM episode, i mean, diba? nov 14..tanda ko parin
7. alone nights. napapraning ako eh..
8. the big fight. buong gabi ata ako umiiyak. but we fixed it, and we're happy now, kaya keri lang
9. nung adcongress nung nagloloko yung internet at wala akong magawa. i hate it.

i was about to post something, but at the middle of writing it, i decided not to. i guess i realized i have to stop trying to explain myself all the time. i am entitled to my own mistakes anyway, and i think i've realized my faults...that's the important bit, right?
i just hope that not one person was offended by my choices, either of action or words. if i did, im sorry, but i'll keep on praying that i didn't and that it's just me, getting paranoid at 3 in the morning. hay..
on a lighter note, a lot of things had hapened, i'll be uploading photos, maybe tomorrow. i loove looove looooooove Derek. now i want to go somewhere every weekend, just so i can snap away. haha! adik.
it's been a laid back holiday season. I miss a lot of people though. guess it's normal this time of the year. everyone's nostalgic. tumatanda na nga tayo..but it's nice to know that while alot of things have changed, some things stay the same. like my determination not to open any gift before christmas (well, i opened sir law's early, pero yun lang talaga!), our hypnotizing christmas tree, me and my sisters getting late for the evening mass, and the very long homily that caucassian priest give every single year.hehe. it's really simpler now that i'm over the santa claus phase of my life. i've got a lot more to be thankful for that can't be found under our christmas tree.
the new years coming up, 2008 should be an interesting year for me.(more on that on another post) my birthday's coming up too, and i hope there won't be a repeat of last year's experience when i cried for hours,as in eye bulging nose clogging crying from the eve of my birthday till about a few hours after. (i think i blogged about that, if you're curious to know what exactly happened, it's in my archives)
gad, i keep coming back to sad things. bawal ang bv, diba?
maybe i just need to rest, i'll back back with albums and posts tomorrow. for now, i think i need to take advantage of a night without alcohol. hehehe! RH na ang nananalaytay sa dugo ko, kailangan mag detox... tara generoso naman tayo! hahahaha!

it has been another tiring december.
the children's xmas party came and went. we managed to turn cardboard boxes into a cardboard manger and even had a storybook style Santa House, complete with a Xmas tree and fireplace. hehe! I became the inkeeper for the show on the last minute, when icabu got stuck in the horrifying traffic. it was fun but very tiring at the same time.
the night before that we had a shoot for our group presentation. finished everything in one night, so im very proud of my team. we didn't win, and it's ok. we had fun making a fool out of ourselves. hehehe!
dec 18 was ur staff party. everyone went home with something. and as i've mentioned, we didn't win the group presentation. Ms Ros and sophie's team did a good job on theirs, they really deserved to win. (Congrats guys! you can watch their video
here) it was "Come as who/what you want to be night" so, yes, i went as a director. hehe!
it was really fun. we had exeptional hosts and hostesses, i felt like i was in a comedy bar, panalo! but the best part of it was when my named was called for the eagle award. I wasnt even listening anymore, i was just taking video of everthing. the eagle award was one of the highest award one can get. i always thought it was for seniors, so I wasn't paying attention anymore while mother was explaining it.
so just imagine what my reaction was when i was called. i didn't even stand up yet, i looked at the back (as if there's another Ciara who's going to stand up and take the award) then realized, teka lang, ako ata yun. i stood up so suddenly, im not sure whether i turned the video off already. i stood at the middle and i...bowed? hahahahah! anlabo..and i waved pa ata. sobrang di ko talaga alam, para akong lasing. feeling ko parang may nagsabi pa na kunin ko yung award bago ko naalala na wala pa pala sakin. hahahahahahhahaha! swear, i didn't know what the heck i was doing, or why i got that award. it was just so....i dont know...supercalifragelisticexpialidocious?!! hahahaha! parang oscar best actress award..buti di ako nagspeech sa sobrang kalutangan.
it didn't sink in agad. everyone was congratulating me, i wanted to cry. so when yam asked if i wanted to go to the CR, i said yes right away. but before i could stop it, jumie appeared from the corner, and there you go, umiyak na ko. (shiyet kaaA)
anyway, im really really happy, parang birthday ko. hahaha! basta. ansaya. thanks for everyone who thought i deserved that award. until now im at a loss kung pano ko nakuha yun pero super salamat po.

guys, i have a new boyfriend. he's someone that i have dreamed of for at least 3 years now. but just last thurs, we've finally met, and in a few moments, he became mine. sure, it sounds like a record, even for me. 5 mins, and we're in love. but id like to think of it as a 3-years-in-the-making love affair. i think i've waited long enough...
so you guys might think, how about alvin? well, we're still good. he knows about him, we have his approval.i told him that he has to deal with the fact that from now on, he'll be sharing me with someone else...
guys, meet my new baby, derek. hehehe. he's a Canon 400D, machogwapitooooo!!
todo na to!! i had a hard time naming him. first it was clifford, (kasi C[for Canon]liff[Four][D]) pero kulang ng macho gwapito factor...then Cameron, pero pa-cute parin..then i thought, he's the man of my dreams, why not name him after McDreamy, right? so derek it is! hehe!
got him last thurs. so guys, pano ba yan, expect more photos... i'll be uploading photos from our barkada's xmas party in a while, and some random shots. grabe, i couldn't sleep when i got him. i was like a little kid on christmas day. i can't stand still. i had about 20 shots of my bed headboard in different angles and settings.hahahaha! and of course the camwhore shots with the canon lens cap. grabe, i was so happy, i didnt need coffee to wake me up the next day even if i havn't had enough sleep.

but as Ms. Rosahlee told me, simula palang ng gastos ito. waaaaaah! i'm eying the EF70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens..i hate it..nung una 50-200mm lang eh...waaaaaaah! i'll be a street beggar soon,,pero naka DSLR. ahahahaha! ALAVET!

Finally...i could breathe..

for today. tomorrow is another day.. it's crunch time, we have to shoot our xmas party group presentation and design the 2 venues for the party on saturday and tuesday... and of course, we still have work on top of that.
so tonight, i'll be sleeping early. tomorrow should be more hectic. but i've always enjoyed shoots, even when i was still an intern in a production house. and everyone knows doing artsy fartsy stuff, so tomorrow's work shouldn't be that bad.
hay, malapit nang mag pasko, pero bakit parang di ko paren dama. haaaaaay...
