Memoirs of a Woman who Stood Last

October 15, 2007 this has been lying around my hardware for quite some time now. I guess, unconsciously, i knew, i could only post it when I myself, fully believe every word of it. so, gad, bear with another emo post guys. hehehe! (you guessed right, it's that time of the month, yet again)

When people say that you're the "last man standing", it is usually an indication of strength or perseverance. in short, it's supposed be a compliment.

but to those like me, it could mean a whole different thing, coz while some look at it as an achievement, to me, it just shows how much i've lost.

This One morning, i happen to switch to a music channel. and i laughed out loud when i heard a familiar tune. But it also dawned on me that like most of the good ol' days, singing "stop" with the original "spice girls" or those special videoke duets with my closest friends, might just remain as a memory to me.

I can still remember those days when we rent a videoke room just for the heck of it. we each have a signature song, and of course, a couple of duets which we somehow "perfected" during the numerous times we willingly became 5 peso poorer to sing our heart out. Now, I have my own videoke to abuse, but i find that it's not as much fun as when we were complete.

yes, it does get harder and harder to look at photographs of a group wherein you are one of the few who are left behind -- and admitting that memories are all you have left. but still, you can't complain because you know such memories are pretty damn hard to replace.

so you wont have a hard time buying gifts for me this christmas, here's my long list: (i know, ang aga)

1. Macbook
2. DSLR Camera
3. Diving Equip (in this order: mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, regulator, BCD, tank)
4. Dive trip (tubataha or kota k or apo reef or palau...keri na hehe)
5. Shopping spree at Ross/Home depot/Target
6. shoes, any kind with heels not higher than 2" (im 7 1/2)
7. my first ever havaianas (brazzziiiilllll)
8. a beanbag or a cool comfy chair
9. flat screen TV, hehe.
10. a year supply of booze (if beer, RH lang pls)
11. Art materials (any medium, from crayons and coloring books to canvass and acrylics)
12. Drumset or Kahon. (wlang pilosopo)
13. Oven. i want to bake.
14. punching bag and gloves
15. a leather basketball.


Of course, Money is always the best. that way you know i will get what i really want.

And look at it this way, if you give me any of my top 5, i can consider that as an early bday gift as well. hehe :)
