Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, ..., or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.”
-Carrie Bradshaw

you'll know that you are a nerd and a SATC addict when you spend most of your working hours answering a trivia quiz and you get to the 4000+ point mark before the day ends.

Just another thing that I've discovered thru facebook. gaaaaad. i miss our SATC marathons. Can't believe i can still remember most of the scenes, from what Carrie said to the color of her Manolos.

I know. adiktus.

I did the Grey's Anatomy quiz for 2 nights, and I'm still 1440 points short from my SATC trivia feat. hahaha!

Thanks Facebook, you gave me a new distraction.

work has been pretty light lately, THANK GAWD! finally, i go home without a major migraine or a spirit so down, satan would be proud i reached that far.

but more idle time gave me more time to think too -- and miss people in the process. People Missed -- there's a lot on that list lately. emo! tama na nga, kala ko ba pag meron lang ang emo, ciara?

anyyyway. got to go, it's QT day today :)

(my thoughts after watching Miami Ink...)

The problem with me is, i try everything, but i never had the discipline to actually push myself to excel at it. It's like when i do something, at first, i'll surprise people, even myself, that i can actually do it, then when i reach a certain level, i stop. Im not really sure why. so i end up being good at most things, but great at nothing..always two steps and a hair behind. Ask me now what I'm really passionate about, and i'll probably answer with a blank face.

whatta Loser.

You'll know when someone is meant to do great things with their lives, You don't have to know them well coz it'll show. there's something radiant about them. they have stories like "i've done this for as long as i remember...". i don't.

maybe I'm just not really cut out for greatness. and it sucks to admit this coz i hate mediocrity.

PERFECT, right?

(I know, of all shows, why the one about tattoo artists? Coz I envy them, and the people who go in the shop. they know what they want, and they actually go for it.)

i hate red flag days, it messes me up inside, it's a miracle how i recover every month. or do I?

Anyong yeo seyo (im not sure how to spell that. hehehe!)

September 14, 2007
was having a chat with our Korean friend last night. we asked him about Korea and what he thought of the Philippines. and it's sad to know that although he hasn't been here for a very long time, he's had some not so nice comments about the people here. and what's worse is that, i agree.

that this country is poor, and most of the blame goes to our president and all the corrupt officials. (its frustrating to realize that there was a time when Php1 = US$1...) Its also embarrassing that his perception of most Pinoys was that they are highly motivated by money. I can only tell him that not all of us are like that. but having to experience first hand how money destroys someone's principles is quite hard to rub out. (before moving to the room at the big house beside us, he lived at a place where someone caused him a lot of trauma, mostly motivated by money)

It is sad to admit that there are people who get blinded by wealth and power so easily. That there are alot of people who justify wrong-doings with having not enough money, when the problem really is that they can't have enough -- the more they get, the more wealth-hungry they become -- or that instead of using poverty as the inspiration to strive to become the best, they just submit to it and look the easiest way out -- most of which, as you know, is illegal, if not, immoral.

I mean, it's not bad that we want to prosper. Actually, that should be the aspiration of everyone. I'd be a hypocrite if id say that i didn't want to get rich one day. the problem lies on the measures we take to get that. while there are some who still believe in hard work and perseverance, alot of people want the easy route. and it doesn't matter if they step on everyone else to get to the top. it comes to a point wherein you feel that you have to outsmart other people (i mean this in the most negative form of the word), pull them down, or harass them to get what you want.

it's disgusting.

i have to feel sorry for our friend, because what he witnessed was the bad side of our country. he'll be leaving soon, but he said he will come back, hopefully to a better Pinas - the Pinas i love, the one that's still now corrupted by money and power. and i hope staying with us, and hanging out with us for a few weeks, somehow showed him that not everyone will take advantage of people like him just to get more. that we may drink every night, but our principles are still intact. that we are still the hardworking-fun-loving-always-smiling-never-say-never-hospitable Pinoys known the world over.
