i need a speedboat

August 08, 2007
it rained non stop last night, actually until this morning (i think it hasn't stopped yet, it just increases and decreases in intensity every hour.) so as expected, our street's flooded with knee-high deep dark water. can you imagine all the things in it, like at any moment a zombie will jump at you and pull you into the water, never to be seen again.i know, i've had too much of harry potter. hahaha!

anyway..i also lost my beloved star world umbrella to the winds last night because i was stupid enough to forget that i left it outside, hanging by a gawdam nail... (now my umbrella can't fit in my bag, amp!)

but that, my friends, is not the best part of the story. because now, as we speak, im here at the office..on a day when work was suspended. why did i brave the streets when i can just stay at home and endulge in a nice cup of hot chocolate?

because i have friggin work that i need to submit by this afternoon. seriously! i know, talk about luck.

i came in shorts. because i know that there's a big chance that i'll need to cross the murky waters of makati should the rain start to pour again. i was just lucky that since this morning, the rain was not that heavy that the flood that was at the level of our garage at 8am (we have an elevated garage, so if the water reached that level, it means it's more than knee high.) was a bit lower when i had to go here. tricycles can pass but you have to raise your feet up coz the water flows freely inside the sidecar. seriously.

hay.. don't get me wrong. I LOVE THE RAIN. it's nice and cool and my hair is always perfectly shiny and manageable. there even was a time when i dance and bathe in the rain. it's just the rain+flood+work combination that i detest.

and then there's also my runny nose. (now its redder than rudolph's)

hay. who invented work!!! and clients who doesn't care if the whole city is flooded and pushes thru with their meetings and expects us to deliver revisions sent late the night before. i mean seriously?!
