October 14, 2005 Recently, another beauty has graced our country, by winning the Miss International Pageant, Precious Lara Quigaman gave us Filipino a reason to feel proud of who we are, and quite at the most perfect timing. because of the current scandal that shook our administration, with rallies here and there, im sure many people are losing faith not only on our goverment but also to our people in general. the country is in chaos and the people who should be the peacemakers are actually the ones who's starting all this. how can you now say "taas noo kahit kanino" without having second thoughts..

then suddenly, she happened. out of the blue, im not sure if most people even saw her in the pageant. to be honest, it was only after she was coronated that i knew that there was a miss international pageant that day. see im not a big fan of beauty pageants, although i do try to watch miss universe just so i can join in and have my own bet, besides the Philippines of course.

anyway, it was just a news at first, then i saw her parading the streets of makati, and saw the people's reaction,,she was treated like a queen, well, she is if you think about it. anyway, that was when i first saw it. she was what we needed. it was the first time that a beauty queen being all over everything didnt bug me that much, or at least i did not just dismissed it with a "sus artista na yan oh" which im fond of saying, no offense.

and since i never got to watch her, im totally clueless how she won, im just proud she did..so you can just imagine how much more proud i was when i read this.

this was the Q&A portion..my gahd..what an answr!!

Q: "what do you say to the people of the world who
have typecasted filipinos as nannies?"

A: "i take no offence on being typecasted as a
nanny. But i do take offence that the educated people
of the world have somehow denegrated the true sense
and meaning of what a nanny is. let me tell you what
she is. she is someone who gives more than she takes.
She is someone you trust to look after the very people
most precious to you - your child, the elderly,
yourself. she is the one who has made a living out of
caring and loving other people. so to those who have
typecasted us as nannies, thank you. it is a testament to the loving
and caring culture of the Filipino people. and for
that, i am forever proud and grateful of my
roots and culture."

what's more perfect than that?? and to think that she thought of that in front of a live audience..id probably melt under the light..or freeze and they'd need to get men to carry me out. brilliant..heart-warming..perfect..she really deserves the crown and the respect she got from millions of Filipinos..me included.

2. DSLR Camera
3. Diving Equip (in this order: mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, regulator, BCD, tank)
4. Dive trip (tubataha or kota k or apo reef or palau...keri na hehe)
5. Shopping spree at Ross/Home depot/Target
6. shoes, any kind with heels not higher than 2" (im 7 1/2)
7. my first ever havaianas (brazzziiiilllll)
8. a beanbag or a cool comfy chair
9. flat screen TV, hehe.
10. a year supply of booze (if beer, RH lang pls)
11. Art materials (any medium, from crayons and coloring books to canvass and acrylics)
12. Drumset or Kahon. (wlang pilosopo)
13. Oven. i want to bake.
14. punching bag and gloves
15. a leather basketball.


Of course, Money is always the best. that way you know i will get what i really want.

And look at it this way, if you give me any of my top 5, i can consider that as an early bday gift as well. hehe :)
